The StartUp Awards National Series is a collaboration between the founders of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards – an established national programme receiving over 5,000 applications annually – and the Wales Start-Up Awards, the only national and regional awards currently celebrating new businesses in the UK. The awards recognise the achievements of entrepreneurs who have spotted an opportunity and taken risks to launch a new product or service.
The Rebel Startup of the Year award recognises outstanding companies that have demonstrated exceptional vision, ingenuity, and a transformative impact on their respective fields. This accolade serves as a testament to EnsiliTech’s dedication to pushing boundaries and redefining the possibilities within the biopharmaceutical space.
During the South West StartUp Awards, regional entrepreneurs gathered to celebrate the most remarkable startup companies of the year. Amidst fierce competition, EnsiliTech emerged as a winner, impressing the judging panel with their innovative approach and unrivalled potential for growth.

Our pursuit of innovation, coupled with an unyielding passion for delivering exceptional thermally stable life-saving biologicals, has earned us this recognition.
EnsiliTech is a Bristol-based startup, which spun out from the University of Bath in July 2022. In January 2023, EnsiliTech had finalised a first, oversubscribed, pre-seed investment round of £1.2M. This consisted of an Innovate UK grant and private investment from Science Angels Syndicate, Fink Family Office, QantX, and angels.
